Depending on the lighting in the Amazon Ballroom and underneath the lights of the ESPN feature table, both players and dealers are having a difficult time figuring out what chips are in play. As one player said, he had to physically look at the numbers on the chips to determine what he's betting.
Since all the chips are very similar to each other, action has slowed down while players make extra precautions before betting. Dealers are also having a tougher time counting down stacks and bets.

Back home, Lee is the Vice President of Application Development (a computer software company) for a division of National Geographic. He decided to take two months off of work to see what his possibilities were in developing as a poker player.
His father is here from North Carolina to cheer Lee on from the stands. Mike Sexton, who lived in North Carolina and is familiar with Lee, phoned the Childs this morning to wish Lee luck. Lee asked Mike if there was any advice he could pass on, to which Mike responded, "Just keep doing what you've been doing and keep away from the big stacks, unless you've got the nuts."
As our reporter was speaking to Lee's father, Lee won the first hand of the day, eliminating Hoa Nguyen and is now up to nine million in chips. After the hand, Lee rushed immediately to his father, gave him a high-five, and went back to his seat. He's off to a great start today.
