Jon Kalmar and the Last-Chance Satellite

Jon Kalmar
Jon Kalmar
Jon "Skalie" Kalmar from Chorley, England had prepared to leave the WSOP 2-3 days before the Main Event started. At the last minute, he decided to spend $500 on a super satellite and ended up finishing in the top 17, winning a $10,000 seat. It was time for him to unpack his bags and postpone his flight home.

Jon just won a huge pot to jump out to 18.5 million and take the chip lead. He has been playing poker as a pro for two years now. Prior to that, he worked for IT (Information Technology), a computer sevice in England in immigration.

Jon's wife Kila just flew across the pond today to cheer her husband on and witnessed his nut flush scooping that giant pot that catapulted him into the chip lead. She said she hasn't been able to sleep for the past 24 hours with all the excitement.

Jon is on a team called "Bad Beat Poker" and bad beats are what he needs to dodge now.

Jon and Kila have been married for a year now and are going through the experience of a lifetime this week. Good luck, Jon!
