Ryan Young Doubles Through Chris Bell

From the cutoff, David Benefield raised to 31,000 and from the small blind Ryan Young reraised to 95,000. Chris Bell then made it 300,000 to go from the small blind, which was enough to chase out Benefield. But not Young -- not when he held {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} to Bell's {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Young flopped a set and Bell was drawing dead by by the turn. Young now sits with 650,000 while Bell's stack dropped to 380,000.

Medic Chips Up

Nenad Medic called a preflop raise from Nikolay Evdakov of 35,000 from the cutoff. Both players took the flop of {K-Spades}{A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Evdakov led for 35,000. Medic made the call.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and both players checked. After the river fell, {2-Hearts}, Evdakov checked and Medic seized control of the hand by betting 95,000. After some long thought, Evdakov folded.

Medic is back over 400,000.

Kings Pay Off Again for Kathy Liebert

Soon after eliminating Andreas Krause when her kings trumped his jacks, Kathy Liebert was no doubt happy to look down and see pocket kings again. She was happy right up to the point where her all-in raise was called by Mike Sowers and his pocket aces.

The {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop seemed to confirm that her tournament was about to end, but on the turn the {K-Hearts} spiked and gave Liebert a new lease on life. The {9-Diamonds} on the river gave the 375,000 pot to Liebert and put her back in the hunt for the final table.

Andreas Krause is Eliminated in 16th Place ($33,088)

When you're short stacked you just pray you'll be dealt a good hand, and no doubt Andreas Krause looked down at his {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and thought that, finally, he had the hand he needed to double up and get back in the game. He probably thought that right up to the point when Kathy Liebert called his all-in and showed {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Krause didn't improve and was eliminated in 16th place.

Eli Elezra Eliminated in 19th Place ($26,470)

Eli Elezra
Eli Elezra
After Eli Elezra raised to 40,000 out of the big blind Mike Sowers made the call and they saw a {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Elezra quickly bet 45,000 and Sowers raised enough to put Elezra all in. He made the call with {A-Hearts}{6-Spades} and was up against Sowers' {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn filled Sowers' inside straight draw and when the {3-Spades} fell on the river Eli Elezra was out in 19th place and Mike Sowers' stack grew to 1.2 million.
