Feeling Fried

Perry Friedman is frustrated. Down to just 1,300 already, he is attempting to claim to all who'll listen that he hasn't won a single pot today. "Oh, ok, maybe I chopped one Omaha pot," he concedes.

Raymer Takes a Hit

Jeff Schulman has just taken a pot off Greg Raymer, the betting capped on fourth street with Raymer check-calling the rest of the way.

Raymer = {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} with {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Schulman = {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades} with {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

On the poker see-saw, whilst Raymer drops to 4,100, Shulman rises to 6,300.

Bring on More Russians

News just in...

Tony G was overhead last night bellowing out his now infamous phrase "Bring on More Russians," although he was at the bar at the time, and had watched "The Big Lebowski" just moments before.

British Invasion

The Brits aren't known for their expertise in these events, yet we've sent over our best men to tackle you American peeps and wrestle a bracelet back to Blighty. Flying the flag for the Majesty herself are messieurs Paul Parker, JJ Hazan, Steve Jelinek, Jac Arama and the Hendon Mob's Barny Boatman.

Also crossing the Atlantic are European high rollers Marcus Golser, Rob Hollink, bracelet winner Michael Keiner and... drum roll please... PokerNews's very own Tony G.

Negreanu Drops a Few

Daniel Negreanu and Chris Reslock played a hand of stud down to the river. When they turned over their cards, Reslock was delighted to discover that not only did his 7-low beat Negreanu's 8-low, but his A-K high also pipped Negreanu's A-Q high, scooping him the pot.

Negreanu clawed back a little on the next hand, though. Negreanu bet, to which Reslock's response was to ask, "If I fold, will you show?" Negreanu agreed, and Reslock showed Q-Q. He was rewarded for his discipline by Negreanu showing him A-A.

Do These Guys Sleep?

Sleep is for wimps
Sleep is for wimps
The World Series can be a gruelling affair for many players, especially if they finaled the night before. Justin Bonomo and Roland de Wolfe, for example, made the final of the mixed-limit event yesterday, yet instead of taking a day off and dusting off the old cobwebs before re-entering the battle scene, both have jumped head-first into today's seven-card stud/Omaha event in search of that much-desired shiny gold bracelet. Can they last the pace, or will fatigue finally set in?
