Runners Against Ramdin

Victor Ramdin called a 175 raise preflop from a player in the cutoff. The flop came {J-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {3-Clubs} and the cutoff fired 350 into the pot. Ramdin raised to 700 and the cutoff player moved all in for his remaining 3,075. Ramdin called, and showed {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} while his opponent showed {10-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}. Ramdin looked to be in good shape, but the {9-Hearts} on the turn and the {Q-Spades} on the river gave his opponent a running straight. After the hand, Ramdin is down to 2,100 in chips.

Boyd Shortstacked

Dutch Boyd limped in from early position to find a raise coming from a late position player. Dutch made the call and saw a flop of {3-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {J-Clubs}. Dutch checked-raised the player on the flop, then led out on the turn when the {7-Diamonds} fell. Dutch's opponent called and when the river brought the {A-Clubs}, Dutch checked. His opponent fired 1,000 into the pot, putting Dutch into the tank. After much thought, Dutch decided to call only to see his opponent turn over pocket rockets. Dutch nodded and tossed his cards into the muck. Dutch is still alive in the tournament, but with around 2,300 chips left.

More Entries, More Late Arrivals

Our last count had the entries for today's event at 1,357 and we're already up to 1,375. Along with the rising attendance, we've seen several more players arriving late, including Jonathan Little, Lee Watkinson, JC Tran, and Jerry Yang.

Levi Down, Not Out

A player from under the gun made it 125 to go preflop and David Levi, from early position, raised to 525. The big blind pushed all-in for his remaining 2,150 and the under the gun player got out of the way while Levi called. Levi was ahead, turning over pocket eights to his opponents A-K. The board came {Q-Clubs} {5-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {5-Hearts}, his opponent turning broadway, and left Levi dead to the river.

After the hand, Levi is down under 2,000 in chips.

Late Arrival Nabs Kings

Gavin Smith, another late arrival to today's event, managed to pick up pocket kings against an unknown player who had shoved all in with pocket queens. Gavin's kings held up and he's up to 7,500 after the hand.
