Theo Tran's quest to make his third final table of the 2008 World Series came to an end when he moved in the last of his chips from the small blind holding . Brent Hanks called in the big blind with but he connected on the flop and though Tran picked up a gutshot draw on the turn he didn't improve on the river and was eliminated.
Jason Sanders raised to 40,000 form middle position and Brent Ditzik moved all in for his last 240,000. Sanders made the call and his was way ahead of Ditzik's , but Ditzik hit a set on the flop and when Sanders didn't catch a queen, Ditzik doubled to 485,000 while Sanders slipped to 340,000.
After dropping down to 120,000 when his A-K ran into aces, Duncan Bell built his stack back up when he was involved in a three-way all-in with Jason Manger and Adam Katz. Katz held A-10, Manger with K-9, and Bell with pocket rockets.
The flop came and though both Katz and Manger picked up draws, neither of them were completed by the river. Bell nearly tripled up to 420,000 while Manger was knocked out of the event. Katz is down to 226,000 after the hand.
Patri Friedman moved in his last 110,000 before the flop with and Jason Sanders called with . Friedman didn't improve on the board and he was eliminated. After dropping a lot of chips in the previous hand Sanders has now bounced back to 590,000.
Pete de Best moved all in from under the gun for 71,000 and Adam Katz made the call. Katz showed while de Best held pocket threes. Katz spiked a king on the flop and eliminated de Best from the field.
We were at 25 players remaining just a bit ago, when all of a sudden a spurt of players were eliminated in rapid fashion, dropping us down to just 20. However, since then, we've seen several double-ups but few eliminations. Play has slowed as players are trying to reach that coveted final table.
Billy Ragatz moved all in preflop with A-3 for his remaining 125,000 and was called by Brent Hanks who held A-10. Hank's spiked a ten on the flop and Ragatz was eliminated after failing to improve.
Sanders raised to 45,000 and Been moved in for his last 280,000 from the small blind. Sanders made the call and his pocket tens led Been's pocket fives. It was perhaps a bit cruel that both players hit sets on the flop, and when Been didn't hit his one out the rest of the way he was eliminated.
Kamran raised under the gun to 31,000 and Vukasin moved all in. Kamran made the call for the rest of his chips and his needed to hold on against Vukasin's . And he did just that, as the board ran out to double Kamran up to 400,000.
