$2,000 Limit Hold'em Begins at 5pm PDT

Fixed-limit hold'em adherents get their chance on Monday at 5pm, when play begins in Event #20, $2,000 Limit Hold'em. Saif Ahmad claimed the title here in 2007, besting 471 other players to emerge $217,329 richer. The field should include plenty of noted cash-game players from poker's old guard, proving their skill in an exacting contest requiring as much precision as bravura.

The field will be slow to trim in the early levels, but we'll be here with the latest matchups and key hands of the night. Check in at 5pm PDT when this one gets underway.

Fifteen Minutes

We're only a quarter of an hour away from the start of this $2,000 Limit Hold'em event.

Limit Hold'em is known as a mathematician's game, as decisions are often based on calculations of stack sizes, pot odds, implied odds and return on investment.

With 4,000 in chips and 25/50 blinds to start, everyone should have plenty of play. Check back in just a bit!

Four Ten

The unofficial player total is 410, but players can register late. Last year's event had 472, so this event will be close to that one.
