Early Action to Tran

Thirty hands into the match, we have seen a fair amount of action from Kenny Tran and Jonathan Jaffe. Tran has won 17 of the first 30 hands. Jaffe came out swinging early and built a quick 2-to-1 chip lead, but Tran fired back after about a dozen hands and now maintains a 3-to-2 chip lead.

Tran seems to be riding Jaffe hard after taking an early blow to the chin in the very first pot. Tran seems calm and composed at the table, while Jaffe seems a bit nervous, biting his lips and glancing around. Look for Tran to keep pushing the action.

Hand #32 - Jonathan Jaffe

Jonathan Jaffe
Jonathan Jaffe
Jonathan Jaffe has the button and makes it 48,000 to go. Kenny Tran then opts for a re-raise, making it a total of 143,000. Jaffe takes another look at his cards and then glances over at Tran before ultimately making the call.

The flop comes {4-Clubs} {K-Spades} {10-Spades} and Tran continues to dictate the action, leading out with a 175,000 bet; Jaffe makes a quick call.

The turn brings the {Q-Spades} prompting Tran to put on the brakes, sending the action over to Jaffe, who fires a 175,000 bullet. The bet sends Tran into the tank and he counts down his stack before eventually making the call.

5th street is the {10-Hearts} and Tran peeks at his hole cards one more time before passing the action over to Jaffe who checks behind.

At the showdown, Tran shows {A-?} {Q-?} for queens and tens, but Jaffe one-ups him, tabling {K-?} {J-?} for kings and tens, earning him the pot and the chip lead. He now has 1,557,000 chips, to Tran's 1,003,000.
