Blind Rewind

The tournament staff just announced that the blinds were moving on up to 2,000/4,000 and the players had a collective conniption fit. As a result, the tournament clock was paused while a senior staff member was called to the scene.

The ruling - a new blind level was created: 1,500/3,000.

Thomas Lutz has just been eliminated from the tournament by John Patgorski.

Sofer Sent Home

Evan Sofer
Evan Sofer
On a flop of {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}, Jonas Mentin passed the first action to opponent Evan Sofer, who led out with a 5,000 bet. Entin then check-raised to 20,000 and Sofer moved all in over the top for approximately 32,000. Entin made the call and tabled a pocket pair of aces. Sofer showed {K-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} and needed help.

The turn and river filled out {3-Spades}, {Q-Clubs}, offering no help to Sofer, who will take home $21,657 in prize money.

Adams Advances

Brandon Adams has just finished off heads-up opponent Jason Rosenkrantz to move on to the round of 16.

Adams put a short-stacked Rosenkrantz all in before the flop holding pocket eights, and Rosenkrantz made the call with {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}.

The board filled out {5-Clubs} {10-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} in favor of Adams, sending Rosenkrantz to the rail $21,657 richer.

McNeil Marches On

Michael McNeil has just defeated Irishman Andy Black and secured himself a spot in the round of 16.

Short-stacked, Black got the remainder of his chips into the middle before the flop holding {J-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} and McNeil gave him action with {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts}. The end result: McNeil hits an overkill flush on the river to send Black packing (he had spiked an ace on the flop which would've been enough).

Robert Mizrachi Defeats Jean Moussa

Robert Mizrachi has just bested heads up opponent Jean Moussa and moved on to the round of 16.

Mizrachi opened the pot with a 24,000 preflop raise and Moussa countered by moving all in over the top of Mizrachi's bet. Mizrachi made the call, tabling {A-Hearts} {10-Spades}, and found himself in great shape against Moussa's {A-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}.

A {8-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} board allowed the better hand to hold, and Mizrachi slid into the next round.
