Torelli First to Advance

Alec Torelli has just moved past Scott Montgomery and earned himself a spot in the 'elite eight.'

Montgomery's demise occurred over the course of two hands. The first of which saw Torelli move all in for 188,000 on a flop of {9-Hearts} {2-Spades} {8-Spades} with ~140,000 already in the middle. Scott had Alec covered by just 10,000 and made the call with {10-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}; Torelli showed {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} for the nut flush draw and two overs.

The {7-Diamonds} came on the turn, further strengthening Montgomery's grip on the hand, but the {7-Spades} on the river completed Torelli's flush and left Scott crippled.

Moments later, Scott moved in for his last 10,000 holding {K-Hearts} {Q-Spades} and Alec looked him up with {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades}. A {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {10-Spades} {A-Spades} board fell in favor of Torelli, sending Montgomery to the rail early in Round 6.
