Queens for Vilmunen

On a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Mike Sexton and Alexander Kostritsyn checked, and Jani Vilmunen bet 16,000. Sexton folded, and Kostritsyn called.

The turn was the {10-Clubs}. Kostritsyn checked, Vilmunen bet 40,000, and Kostritsyn called.

The river was the {5-Diamonds}. Kostritsyn checked, Vilmunen bet 80,000, and Kostritsyn again called.

Vilmunen showed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{A-Spades}{J-Clubs} for top set, and Kostritsyn mucked. Vilmunen is up to 420,000, while Kostritsyn is down to 205,000.

Sexton Eliminated

Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton
Shortly after that big hand with Alexander Kostritsyn, Jani Vilmunen got involved in another one with a short-stacked Mike Sexton.

Sexton got all of his chips in on a flop of {8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Sexton had {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a straight draw. But Vilmunen held {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades} -- he had flopped top set once again.

The turn and river brought no help for Sexton, and he was eliminated. Vilmunen is at around 450,000.

Tony G Eliminated by David Benyamine

David Benyamine raised to 10,500 preflop, Tony G moved all in for 24,000 and Benyamine called.

Tony G {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}

Benyamine {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {2-Spades}

The flop was {9-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {3-Spades}, Tony G's aces holding for the moment, but Benyamine picked up a flush draw. The turn filled it when the {8-Spades} came down and the river was the {6-Spades}. Benyamine raked in the pot while an unhappy Tony G hit the rail.

After the hand, Benyamine was up to 170,000.

Chips Passing in the Night

Alexander Kostritsyn recently doubled through Rafi Amit. Then Amit tripled through Jani Vilmunen and Erik Seidel.

When the dust settled, Vilmunen was still sitting pretty with 430,000, Kostritsyn had moved back around 132,000, Seidel had 92,000, and Amit was down to 42,000.
