J.C. Tran Wins a Big Pot

J.C. Tran
J.C. Tran
J.C. Tran, Liz Lieu and Russell Rosenblum each put in four bets before seeing a {6-Spades} {6-Clubs} {4-Spades} flop. From the small blind Tran bet and Lieu and Rosenblum both called, as they did when the {K-Spades} came on the turn. But when the {2-Clubs} fell on the river and Tran again bet they both laid down their hands. Tran is now up to 56,000.

Bill Chen Eliminates Rep Porter

Bill Chen led out preflop from under the gun and Rep Porter put himself all in from the big blind. A middle position player called the raise and the three were off to the flop.

Flop: {7-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}

Bill bet the flop and his opponent called. The turn was the {Q-Spades} and Bill fired again and was called. The river was the {8-Spades} and again Bill led out and was called. Bill showed {Q-Hearts} {K-Spades} and his opponent mucked, while Rep Porter showed {2-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} for his share of the pot. Although Porter had found an eight on the river, it wasn't good enough to beat out Bill's trips.

Double Dip for Greenstein

It should be noted that there are a few players in today's field who are playing both this event as well as another. While some are in the PLO event going on, of particular note is Barry Greenstein, who happens to be involved in this event and is also currently heads up in the Razz event.

Barry has a commanding chip lead in the heads up battle and currently strides over to the section here while on breaks during the other. Though many players double dip from time to time, this may be the first double dipping during a heads up confrontation.

Even though he's playing in two events at once, there's a good chance Barry won't be giving away a book today

Daniel Negreanu is among the leaders in the Pot-Limit Omaha w/rebuys event. Negreanu's stack is down to around 8,800 in this event.

Back to His Stack

Daniel Negreanu in on break from the PLO w/rebuys event and he's returned to try and build up his stack in this event. He's down to 6,600 and he'll have to move his chips if he hopes to survive another long absence while he plays in the other tournament.

No Giveaway For Barry

"The Year of the Pro" continues as Barry Greenstein just won his third WSOP bracelet. Barry has been heads up for a while during that event while at the same time playing in this event during breaks in the latter.

Immediately after winning, Barry jogged from the ESPN arena to this event, barely stopping to field questions from media for his win. Currently, Greenstein is down to 11,000 in chips.
