Sung Eliminates Gorham

Steve Sung eliminated James Gorham when his A-K butted heads with Gorham's K-J. There were three bets preflop, with Michael Mizrachi caught in the middle, and Gorham getting the last of his chips in. Mizrachi bowed out on the flop, where Sung had spiked an ace.

Gorham couldn't catch up and was eliminated.

Brodie Doubles Up

Richard Brodie managed to get all his chips in the middle preflop holding pocket aces and was up against Thomas Johnston who held K-Q. Thomas found a queen on the flop but was unable to improve past that. After the hand, Brodie is up to 22,500.

Fast Pace

Play is continuing today at a lightning pace compared to the final rounds yesterday evening. Bust outs and shortstacks were in the minority last night with things appearing to have flip-flopped today. We've already lost nearly half the field, and play has only been going on for two and a half hours. We reach the money once we get to 27, which at this rate, could be before dinner.

Jerrod Ankenman led out from early position and Brian Powell called from the small blind and Todd Brunson from the big. The flop came {8-Clubs}

, and when Powell bet and Brunson called Ankenman raised. The other two called and the {5-Diamonds}

fell on the turn. It was checked to Ankenman, who bet and was called by both blinds. The {2-Clubs}

hit on the river, again it was checked to Ankenman and again he bet. Powell thought a good while before making the call, Brunson folded, and Ankenman took the pot with {K-Hearts}

. He's now up to 165,000, Brunson is down to 27,000, and Powell has just 17,000.
