Mad Max

Max Pescatori
Max Pescatori
Max Pescatori is fuming like petrol at the moment after seeing his stack diminish to 40,000.

With a {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on board, Pescatori led out for 7,500 only for his next door neighbour to make the call, albeit after some deliberation.

River = {9-Diamonds}

Pescatori quickly checked, but his opponent was less inclined, peering down at his stack before betting out 15,000.

Pescatori reluctantly called, but quickly chucked his hand into the muck as he was met by a {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Kings for Costner

After at one point today being one of the big stacks on over 100,000, Sebastian Ruthenberg has been crippled down to just 16,000.

He bet out 7,000 on a {K-Hearts} {8-Spades} {5-Spades} flop, and Gabe Costner made it 17,000. Ruthenberg went all in, and Costner called for his remaining 26,000, or 43,000 total.

Ruthenberg: {5-Hearts} {8-Clubs}
Costner: {Q-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}

Turn: {A-Hearts}

River: {K-Diamonds}

Costner doubles up.

Kenna James Out

Kenna James has bitten the dust. All in preflop and dominated with {A-Spades} {8-Hearts} against Alon Shahar's {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}, he was actually looking pretty good for a double up after hitting the {5-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} flop, but was eventually undone by a backdoor flush.

Turn: {2-Diamonds}

River: {10-Diamonds}

River Drowns Lake

Dario Minieri
Dario Minieri
Poker is full of surprises, but none more painful than the outdraw, Devin Lake being the latest to feel its wrath, and boy, what a wrath it was.

With Dario Minieri raising it up to 3,200 preflop, Devin Lake made it a total of 10,000 to play. Folded back round to Minieri, and the Italian menace glanced at his stack, then at his opponent, before reaching back for a tall column of yellow chips worth 22,000.

Devin Lake took no time in pushing in his remaining stack, a move which provoked a sigh and a subsequent declaration of "well, I guess I'm committed now" from Minieri.

On their backs, and Lake was looking in great shape with {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} versus Minieri's {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, and even more so on the clinical {4-Spades}{K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop.

Sadly for Lake, it wasn't quite clinical enough, running clubs on the {J-Clubs} turn and {3-Clubs} river dealing out the very lowest of blows and giving the PokerStars pro the flush, and thus the pot.

Gasps ensued as flabbers were well and truly gasted, even Minieri shocked as he raced over to fellow countryman Pescatori to retell his tale of fortune.

Lake, meanwhile, took his beat like a man, simply tapping the table and heading towards the cashier.

Mineiri now looks to have surpassed that magic 100,000 mark.

Pirate Passes Ladies

Max Pescatori, faced with a rereraise, considered it for some time before saying to his opponent, "You're a nice guy. I'm gonna fold," and to everyone's surprise passing pocket queens face up. His opponent, nice guy or no, refused to show.
