"No Heart"

Michael Skomac (small blind), Alon Shahar (big blind) and Stuart Marshak (middle position) all saw a three-way flop of {7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, the mound of chips in the middle perhaps suggesting that Marshak had raised it up preflop and been called by the blinds.

Either way, after Skomac had checked, Shahar bet out 15,000 and Marshak pushed all in, pausing briefly before meticulously sliding his 75,000 stack across line.

With Skomac ducking out of the way, Shahar didn't look best pleased, but called nonetheless.

Shahar = {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Marshak = {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

As the dealer dealt out the {8-Hearts} turn, Marshak chanted, "No heart, no heart," not realizing he had the {A-Hearts} in the hole.

Although a heart on the river would have been thoroughly amusing, if only to witness the befuddled reaction of Marshak, out came a harmless {Q-Clubs} to pair the board and give the short-stack the pot.

"He calling no heart, baby, when he would have had the nut," commented Scotty Nguyen in the aftermath.

Shahar Regains Chip Lead;Hoffman Eliminated

After momentarily losing his post as leader of the pack, Alon Shahar has regained his spot at the top after winning a monster pot against Kyle Hoffman.

They say you have to win your fair share of conflips in this game, and they're not wrong, Shahar delighted to see his {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} hold up against Hoffman's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} on an ensuing {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} board.

Shahar is now on 580,000, around 100,000 ahead of his nearest rival.

Jason Mercier Eliminated

Scotty Nguyen doubled up off Jason Mercier with {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} against Mercier's {A-Clubs} {10-?} on a {7-Spades} {2-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs} board, leaving them both with exactly 160,000.

Then the next hand, Scotty Nguyen raised to 11,000 from the button only for Jason Mercier to go all in for his 160,000 from the small blind. Nguyen, also of course in possession of a total 160,000 at the start of the hand, called.

Mercier: {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}
Nguyen: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

Board: {5-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {6-Diamonds}

"I can't be pushed around, baby," said Nguyen as Mercier took his leave and Nguyen raked in the 320,000.
