Slow-Playing

Our mostly amateur final table of players seems to be taking it slow in these first few hands... slow as in taking a looooong time to make decisions. Based on the pace of play last night as compared to this afternoon, some of these players seem to be Hollywooding it up for the ESPN 360 cameras in their first appearance on a live broadcast.

Hand #11 - Dean Bui

Dean Bui
Dean Bui
Dean Bui has the button in Seat 1. Dany Georges raises to 55,000 from under the gun. Action folds around to Dean Bui on the button and he moves all in for 147,000. The blinds pass and Georges asks that the called money be pulled in. It's another 92,000 to Georges and he eventually calls. The players show:

Georges: {A-Spades} {8-Clubs}
Bui: {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}

The crowd seems relatively uninterested and only Osmin Dardon is on his feet. The flop comes {K-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {3-Hearts}. Apparently neither man has an entourage on hand as the atmosphere resembles a library more than a WSOP final table. Without the typical dramatic pauses, the turn brings the {Q-Hearts} and the river, the {8-Diamonds}.

Dean Bui doubles up to just over 350,000.

Hand #12 - Shane Stacey

Justin Hoffman has the button in Seat 2. Shane Stacey raises to 54,000 and Dany Georges calls from the big blind. The flop is {8-Spades} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts}. Georges checks, Stacey bets 75,000 and Georges calls. The turn comes the {9-Spades} and both players check. The river is the {5-Diamonds}. Georges bets 75,000 and Stacey calls.

Stacey shows {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}, Georges mucks and Stacey wins the pot.
