Morgan Machina Pads His Stack, Sends Another One Home

Action folded around to Morgan Machina in the small blind and he completed. The big blind checked and they took a flop of {10-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {5-Clubs}. Both men checked and the {J-Diamonds} hit the turn. Machina led out for 900 and the big blind moved all in for 3,975. Machina made the call and the players showed:

Machina: {J-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Spades} {5-Spades}

The river bricked coming the {6-Hearts} and Machina sends another player home and takes his stack to roughly 30,000 in the process.

Chris McCormack Loses a Big One

After one player limped from early position, Chris McCormack raised to 1,500 from late position. The player next to act moved all in for 4,500 and action was back to the limper who passed. McCormack made the call and the players showed:

McCormack: {A-Clubs} {10-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts}

The flop was dramatic, coming {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}. McCormack flopped Broadway but his opponent had plenty of outs. The turn brought a chop into the realm of possibility as it came the {A-Diamonds}. The {J-Hearts} on the river took McCormack from first to worst as it gave his opponent the boat. He slips to 14,800 after the hand.

The player under the gun put in raise to 1,200 and got a call from late position. Young Phan called from the cutoff seat and Vanessa Rousso announced a reraise from the button. Eventually, she pushed out 4,500. She got a call from the initial raiser but the late-position caller and Phan gave it up.

The flop came {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {8-Spades} and Rousso's opponent checked. She pushed for 8,900 and got a quick call. The players showed:

Rousso: {A-Spades} {9-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}

The turn and river came the {J-Spades} and {Q-Diamonds} respectively and Miss Rousso headed for the exit.

Young Phan Likes Pocket Queens

Young Phan moved all in for 10,925 on a flop of {J-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {5-Clubs} and found a caller. Phan turned up {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}, leading his opponent's top pair top kicker with {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}. The turn was the {6-Spades}, the river was the {7-Diamonds} and Phan doubled up to 24,000 just as we broke for dinner.

Ace-King Times Three

The poker gods must have sprinkled some pixie dust on the deck at Table 12 over the dinner break. On the first hand back there was a massive three-way all in. The players' hands? {A-Spades} {K-Spades}, {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}, and {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}. The flop, naturally came all diamonds and everyone got their money back.
