Forrest Near Fumes

The first hand folded around to Layne Flack who raised pot from the small blind, taking Ted Forrest's big blind -- a not insignificant 40,000-chip hit to Forrest's dwindling stack.

Kloeckner in Dire Straits

In the last hand of the level, Kyle Kloeckner raised to 90,000 from the button, and Layne Flack raised pot to 285,000 from the small blind. Ted Forrest folded, and Kloeckner called, leaving himself just 127,000 behind.

Flack bet pot in the dark, and the flop came {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}. A not-too-happy looking Kloeckner folded.

The Last Three Hands

1. Daniel Makowsky got a walk in his big blind (his second tonight).

2. Layne Flack raised to 90,000 from the hijack, taking the blinds.

3. Jacobo Fernandez got a walk in his big blind.

Forrest Thinning

Ted Forrest completed from the small blind, and Dario Alioto checked his option from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Forrest bet 40,000. Alioto, interest seemingly piqued by that two-thirds pot bet, called.

The turn was the {3-Hearts}. Forrest bet 85,000 this time, again just about two-thirds the pot. Alioto called again.

The river was the {2-Spades}. This time Forrest checked. Without much delay, Alioto bet 240,000. Forrest, with only 292,000 behind, let it go.

Flop No Good for Forrest

Jacobo Fernandez limped from the button, Layne Flack raised the pot to 120,000 from the small blind, Ted Forrest called from the big blind, and Fernandez folded.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Forrest checked, Flack bet the pot, and Forrest quickly folded.

Coupla Small Ones

1. Daniel Makowsky limped from the button, Kyle Kloeckner completed from the small blind, and Jacobo Fernandez checked in the big blind. The trio checked down a board of {J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Fernandez showed a king and took the pot.

2. Fernandez took a small pot from Layne Flack in a blind-vs.-blind hand.

Holding Steady

Fernandez and Forrest each took a turn stealing the blinds. Then on the next hand, Dario Alioto took a small pot (of 120,000) from Makowsky in a minor blind-vs.-blind skirmish.

On the next one, Ted Forrest limped in from the cutoff, Makowsky completed from the small blind, and Kyle Kloeckner checked from the big blind. All checked the {6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop. Forrest bet 90,000 on the {Q-Clubs} turn, and took the pot.
