Daut Triples

Ryan Daut has just tripled through Roland de Wolfe and an unknown player. Daut got all his chips in preflop, but de Wolfe and the other player created a side pot with their bet sizes.

de Wolfe bet into this side pot when the flop came {4-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {9-Hearts} and took it down when his opponent folded.

Now heads up, de Wolfe revealed {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {10-Spades}.

He was in trouble against Daut's {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} x

The turn and river changed nothing and Daut moved up to 15,600.

de Wolfe slips a little to 23,000.

Mathematics Shmathematics

Hmm . . . double-suited aces are often good in that spot.
Hmm . . . double-suited aces are often good in that spot.
Four-way all-in preflop:

UTG -- {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Bill Chen (UTG+1) -- {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
MP -- {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Ted Lawson (button) -- {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Okay, Omahalics . . . who is the favorite here?

The answer, as Bill Chen surely knew, is Chen (by far). But did his hand hold up?

Board -- {10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

UTG wins with quad tens. Chen and Lawson both rebought. Poor Chen lost with A-A-x-x yet again right afterwards (to Lawson), and rebought again.

On the Up

Eric Froehlich and an unknown player got it all in on a {8-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} flop.

Froehlich tabled {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} to his opponent's {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {2-Hearts}.

Both flopped two pair but Froehlich's was the higher and was still good by the river to claim the pot.

Froehlich up to 24,100 now.

That's Gonna Leave a Mark

On a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, a player holding 10-10-x-x got into a raising war with Sorel Mizzi who held Q-Q-10-8.

The turn was the {6-Spades}, but the river brought the {Q-Hearts}, giving Mizzi the better boat. Mizzi is now up to 30,000.

Cards Finding Forrest

Ted Forrest has been involved in a couple of multi-way all-ins here recently. He won one when his set of tens held up against Noah Boeken's K-K-x-x and another opponent's A-A-x-x.

He picked up another after rivering a straight against Max Pescatori and Brian Rast. Forrest is up to 22,000.

More Blind Crazy Play

J.C. Tran's table is up there with the craziest in the room at the moment. I feel sorry for any players who sat there with a limited budget to spend.

A player in mid position raises before Tran reraises and Marco Johnson raises again. This pattern continues until they have all the chips in the middle, blind!

Mid position player shows {6-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {9-Hearts}
J.C. Tran shows {A-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {J-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}
Marco Johnson shows {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {J-Diamonds}

The board runs {K-Clubs} {6-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds}

Amazingly the jacks hold up for Johnson and he's up to 20,000.

Tran drops back to 20,000.

Pickering's Puny Pair Prevails

Jamie Pickering
Jamie Pickering
Jamie Pickering just pushed all in on a flop of {J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} and was called. Pickering showed {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} -- just a pair of fours. His opponent had {A-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} for a big wrap draw.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and the river the {8-Spades}, and Pickering took the pot. He's up to 15,000.

The Dealer Needs Help with this One

In a four-way pot with lots of action and four players all in at various stages, Layne Flack, himself a former poker dealer, had to take over from the dealer and sort out who was due what at the end of the hand.

Chad Brown took the main pot holding {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {A-Spades} after being all in on the flop.

A player in mid position was also all in on the flop but lost the lot holding {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {K-Hearts}.

An early-position player took the side pot off Flack holding {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades}.

Flack will be looking to rebuy soon after his {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts} failed to win either pot.

The board was {J-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}

Flack on 4,000 now. Chad Brown up to 20,000.
