Men Nyguen, a Master of Value

Men "The Master" Nguyen scooped a pot with two pair and in the process made a few different value bets. One on third street, a check-raise on fifth, and a called bet on the end.

Men "The Master" Nguyen: ({6-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {A-Spades}) {7-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs}
Opponent: {J-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {9-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {5-Spades}

The hand has "The Master" holding around 16,000.

Mike Rocco Cripples Humberto Brenes (Again)

Humberto Brenes built his stack back up after being crippled earlier. Then he tangled with Mike Rocco in a recent hand and is crippled again. Humberto started with split aces and improved to trip aces on fifth street. Unfortunately for him, Rocco started with split tens and improved to fives full of tens by fifth street. Brenes wasn't able to fill up and is once again on life support with about 1,000 in chips.

Rocco's stack increased to 26,000.

Barbieri Wins; Spectator Ejected

Al "Sugar Bear" Barbieri was involved in a hand with an opponent at his table. The opponent was carrying on a conversation in a different language with a spectator on the rail, who was a player that already busted from the tournament.

After Barbieri won the hand with trip jacks against his opponent's two pair, eights and nines, Barbieri called a floor to the table to complain about the behavior of the spectator on the rail. After a discussion between the floor and the spectator, the spectator was escorted from the Amazon Room.

Rocco Rolls Over Mueller

Mike Rocco and Greg "FBT" Mueller tangled in a recent four-way hand that saw two other players go all in. Mueller started with buried queens, and was four to a straight flush by fifth street. Rocco started with split threes and an ace, and made aces up on fifth street. The all-in player immediately in front of Mueller, on two successive streets, pulled cards that would have won the hand for Mueller: the {Q-Diamonds}, which would have made trip queens, and the {10-Clubs}, which would have made the straight flush. Instead, Mueller went all the way to the river and never improved on his queens. Rocco took down the pot with two pair.

Both of the all-in players were eliminated. After the hand, Rocco has about 42,000 in chips and Mueller dips to 19,000.

The Final Countdown

With 25 minutes left in Level 8, the last level for the night, we are already down to 79 players remaining, just 39 spots off the money. That means that a full 80 percent of the field has been eliminated.

Recent Elimination

Eskimo Clark didn't quite make it to the end of the day. He is out with 20 minutes remaining in Level 8, after starting three to a straight, failing to improve, and running into another player's buried kings.
