Brown Cripples, Then Eliminates Fernandez

Two tough hands for Ed Fernandez against Chad Brown have sent Fernandez to the rail. First, Fernandez led the betting on every street until the river, where he checked his board of x-x / {9-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {7-Clubs} / x to Brown, who had a board of x-x / {A-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts} / x. Brown bet the river, and Fernandez made a crying call with most of his stack already in the middle. Brown showed {A-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} in the hole for two pair, aces and threes. Fernandez mucked.

The next hand, Fernandez got the rest of his stack in on third street with split deuces. Brown showed split fives, and by fifth street made a full house, fives full of tens. That was more than enough to eliminate Fernandez; the best he could come up with was two pair.

Fernandez walk away with $2,860 in prize money.
