Dempsey Not Happy

Derek Dempsey moved all in on the river of a {K-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} board and Sunny Chattha called, but mucked when Dempsey turned over {K-Spades} {10-Spades}. Chattha down to 25,000, and Dempsey doubled up to 62,700.

A few hands later, though, Dempsey doubled up Jeff Sluzinski to 70,000 -- Sluzinski raised and then went over the top of Dempsey's reraise with {8-Spades} {8-Clubs}. Dempsey's {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} failed to hit on the {3-Hearts} {6-Spades} {J-Spades} {3-Spades} {3-Clubs} board, and his subsequent comments to Sluzinski regarding what he thought of how he had played the hand resulted in Dempsey being issued with an eight-hand penalty. Yikes.

The Sickest of Misdeals

According to our secret source (cough... Michael Greco), his table witnessed the most outrageous of misdeals, four players huffing and bemoaning the dealer's faux pas and showing, in no particular order...

Now that could have got messy...

Howard's End

After building his stack up from a mere 12,000 at the start of the day to an impressive 60,000, Chris Howard is OUT.

He raised the pot from the small blind, only for Shane Schleger to re-pot from the big blind. Howard went all in, and Schleger called.

Howard: {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs}
Schleger: {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}

Board: an unmiraculous {9-Spades} {A-Spades} {7-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {8-Hearts}

Rado Boltryk Eliminated

After being knocked down to just 2,500, Rado Boltryk was unable to recover and soon fell at the hands of Rob Perry.

With the board reading {8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, Rob Perry held {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for top pair, whilst Boltryk could only muster {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Shane Schleger was also in the hand, but his cards went unseen.

Gowen Doubles Up Again

Boasting more comebacks than Frank Sinatra, Clonie Gowen's dogged refusal to die has led to yet another double-up, this time seeing her stack shoot up to 23,000.

Raising it up to 4,500 preflop with {A-?}{J-?}, Gowen was put all in by the big blind who held {A-?}{10-?}. A {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} board missed both players, but Gowen's jack kicker was just about good enough to take the pot.
