Bill Spadea Eliminated

Bill Spadea raised 2,000 preflop and was called. On a flop of {3-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {10-Clubs}, Spadea bet out another 2,000 and was called. On the turn of the {8-Hearts}, Spadea pushed all in and was called by his opponent. Spadea showed {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} for a straight draw and his opponent showed {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} for a pair. The river fell the {7-Hearts} and Spadea was out the door.

Nguyen Masterful, Even With the Worst Hand

Men "The Master" Nguyen was in a hand with an unknown player, whom he had reraised preflop. Nguyen said, "Cmon, push all in. Push all in." Nguyen told the player that if the player folded, he would show his hand—but only if his opponent also showed his.

Nguyen showed {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} and his opponent showed {5-?} {5-?}. Nguyen asked him, "You still want to go all in? I'll go all in with you if you want." His opponent declined.

The Fatigue Factor

An interesting thing to watch out for tonight may be the fatigue levels of some of the players. With the field being 50-plus years in age, fatigue will play a larger factor in this field than in most. Typically after the dinner break you will have some people who will start to become tired due to a large meal, the time of day, etc. These factors should be amplified today and it should be interesting to see some of the decisions made as a result.

Another Senior Moment

Two players saw a king-high flop and with plenty in the middle already, the player first to speak said, "Fourteen," and threw out two yellow 1,000-denomination chips and eight blue 500-denomination chips.

The dealer looked at the chips and was a little confused as the amount didn't total anything resembling "fourteen."

"Fourteen hundred or fourteen thousand?" questioned the dealer.

"I meant fourteen hundred!" said the player.

A tournament director was called over. He looked at the 6,000 in chips that had been bet and ruled, "Sorry sir but you've just bet 14,000."

"OK," agreed the player and the bet stood at 14,000.

His opponent went into the tank and appeared set to make the call but eventually laid down his hand, with the original bettor winning the pot. After the hand they all had a laugh as the player revealed that he didn't even mean to bet "fourteen," he just wasn't sure what amount to bet! Oh dear!
