How Many Over 100?

During the break a gentleman approached our reporting desk and asked us "How many over 100?"

"In age?" we replied

"No, I meant in chips!" he asked again.

"Of course!" we laughed. The answer was seven, with the current top three being:

Gregory Alston: 188,000
Dale Eberle: 175,000
Edward Clark: 170,000

Knock on Wood

Charles Wood pulled off a double knock out when his pocket aces trumped his opponents pocket kings and pocket queens.

Wood and his two opponents got all the money in preflop and the board didn't improve any off the hands and Woods shouted "winner winner chicken dinner," as he raked the pot and sent two players to the rail.

Wood has 135,000

Thulson Eliminates Kidd

Mike Thulson opened with a raise preflop to 11,000 before Johnny Kidd moved all in for his last 19,000. Thulson made the call.

Thulson showed {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} but would need to improve against the {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} of Kidd. The board landed {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Thulson spikes an ace to eliminate Kidd from the tournament. Thulson is up to 107,000 chips.

Some Goldem Slim Moments

Amarillo Slim doubled up an opponent after calling his all in with just a flush draw holding {K-Spades}{2-Clubs} on a board of {5-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}. Unfortunately for Slim, his opponent held {10-Spades}{Q-Spades} for the flopped flush. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and river the {9-Diamonds} as the pot was sent to his opponent.

A few moments later, Slim was able to recover some chips after some aggressive betting on a flop of {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}. Slim got his opponent to fold A-Q face up as Slim said "Pocket kings" before flashing 8-2! "Oh I guess I need to get some glasses!"

Thulson Pushes Forward

Mike Thulson managed a huge double up putting him amongst the chip leaders.

The board read {Q-Hearts} {10-Spades} {4-Spades} and Thulson pushed all in with {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}. His opponent called with {K-Spades} {Q-Spades}. Luckily for Thulson, the board blanked off and he raked the huge pot, bringing his chips stack to 164,000
