Who is the Oldest Player?

Just before play resumed, the floor staff did a count of who the oldest player in the field was. They had everyone stand and had people sit as they asked if players were under a certain age. By the time we reached 90, we only had one man standing. Harold Waite is the oldest player in today's field. He is 91 years young.

To give you some perspective, Mr. Waite was born in 1917. In 1917:

The United States declared war on Germany.
President Woodrow Wilson began his second term in office.
The United States took possession of the Virgin Islands after paying $25 million to Denmark.
The first Pulitzer Prizes are awarded for editorial writing, reporting, history of the United States, and biography or autobiography.
The Chicago White Sox beat the NY Giants in the World Series (4-2)
