Jon Maren Eliminated - 5th Place ($56,019)

Jon Maren
Jon Maren
Jon Maren was eliminated after he had raised preflop and was called by Casey Kastle. The flop ran {K-Clubs} {8-Spades} {Q-Hearts} and Jon moved all in after Casey had checked. Casey called and turned over 6-6-5-2 for a pair of sixes while Jon showed A-J-2-3 for a straight draw. The {2-Clubs} fell on the river, giving Jon even more possibilities, but the {Q-Spades} on the river was of little help and made Jon our fifth place finisher.

Tanking

Players today have gone into the tank on several occasions, without a clock being called on them yet. Whenever Casey Kastle is facing a large decision, he takes his time thinking it through before making a call. Each of the few flops that we see tends to bring heavy decisions with it.

Hand Recap

We've seen only a small amount of flops over the last several hands. Most action involves raising preflop and having everyone fold around. We've only had a couple of walks all day, as well as a couple of limps. It has been very seldom that a player will call a preflop raise.

Hat Change??

Until the dinner break, Casey Kastle has been wearing a Chicago Cubs hat. Upon returning from dinner break, he is wearing a Slovenija hat. How do you go from the Chicago Cubs to Slovenija?

Erik Seidel is still wearing the same hat...and he still looks bored.

Not Much Action

We've had four hands dealt since returning to break, but not a lot of action on any of them. We've had several preflop raises that continue to put an end to the hand.

Seidel Takes One Down

Erik Seidel called from the small blind and Michael Fetter checked his option. The flop fell {Q-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} and Michael Fetter bet the pot. Erik raised the pot, and after tanking for awhile, Fetter let it go.

Seidel Takes Another

Seidel called a preflop raise of 60,000 from Casey Kastle while in the big blind. The flop ran {6-Clubs} {K-Spades} {4-Clubs} and Erik immediately bet the pot. Kastle went into the tank before ultimately folding.
