How to Lose a Race with Flair

From early position, a player opens for a raise to 2,200. Action comes around to Theo Tran in the small blind, and he reraises it to 6,800. Next to act is Peter Jepsen in the big blind, and he comes back over the top of both men with an all-in shove for 39,000. The original raiser folds, and Tran pauses for a moment before acting. As he makes the call and turns his {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} over, Tran asks, "You making a move?" Jepsen responds, "No," and shows down his hand: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}. The two men head off to the races for a big pot.

The flop is Yahtzee for Jepsen, as it comes down {5-Spades} {10-Spades} {6-Spades}. He flops the absolute nuts with the ace-high flush. The turn pairs the {5-Clubs} and gives Tran a few outs to redraw. The whole table sweats the river, as the dealer burns and turns...

{5-Hearts}

Tran catches lightning in a bottle, hitting runner-runner fives to make a full boat. Someone across the table can't contain himself: "Oh my god. That is dirty," he says as Tran drags down a pot worth more than 80,000 in chips. Jepsen, meanwhile, is crippled all the way down to a mere 2,000.

Peter Jepsen was all in shortly after that with {A-Spades} {3-Hearts}, and lost the rest of his chips to a caller with {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. He received a pat on the shoulder from his fans near the table, and made his way out of the room.
