$1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi/Low: End of Day 1

Five hundred and forty-four brave souls ventured into the Brazilia Room (some stopping in at the Amazon Room incorrectly) and entered this, the $1,500 Seven-Card Stud Hi/Low event. Better known as stud-8, this is a game of halved and quartered pot odds, and lots and lots of split pots.

Many of the late entries in this game were recent bust-outs from other events, including Day 2 of the $50,000 HORSE event. Chris Ferguson, Hoyt Corkins and Tony G raced over from that event during this event's first break, just in time to take a seat at the same table. They wouldn't play together long, as their newly-minted table was one of the first to break.

When the dust settled at around 2:30 a.m. Pacific time, 117 players remained to fight it out in Day 2. Among them are big names such as Tony G, David Singer, Phil Hellmuth, and Men "The Master" Nguyen. All of them return at 3 p.m. Pacific to play down to a single table of eight. Fifty-six places pay. Everyone is likely praying that this Day 2 does not approach the 17 hours of the $5,000 Stud-8 Championship earlier this month.

See you back at 3 p.m. Pacific for all the action!
