The Rasmus Show

Rasmus Nielsen has raised five out of the last nine hands and has found no one who wishes to tangle with him. He's playing very aggressive, big-stack poker and it appears to be working very well. Currently, Rasmus has a 2:1 chip lead over JC Tran, who is second in chips, and nearly a 4:1 chip lead over everyone else.

Hand #26: Peter Nguyen

Chad Siu had the button. It folded to Peter Nguyen, who completed from the small blind. Rasmus Nielsen raised an additional 55,000 -- just what he did the last time Nguyen tried to limp in to see a flop with him. Last time, Nguyen folded, but this time he called.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. Both checked. The turn was the {7-Diamonds}, and both checked again. They also checked the {3-Hearts} on the river.

Nguyen showed {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a pair of nines. Nielsen showed {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}, and Nguyen took the pot.

Hand #27: Jesper Hoog Eliminated in 7th Place ($113,157)

Jesper Hoog - 7th Place
Jesper Hoog - 7th Place
The last hand of this level began with Peter Nguyen having the button. Jesper Hoog moved all in for 220,000 from middle position. Nguyen called him, and the blinds folded.

Hoog {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Nguyen {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

Hoog was in sad shape. The flop came {2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}, and Hoog still needed help. The turn was the {J-Spades}. The river brought the {9-Hearts}, and Hoog is out in seventh.

Hand #28: Peter Nguyen

Chip leader Rasmus Nielsen -- who with 3.3. million has a huge lead over his nearest competitor, J.C. Tran, who has 1.9 million -- had the button.

Peter Nguyen raised to 110,000 from the cutoff. All folded, giving Nguyen the hand.
