Taking the A Tran

The table folded around to Hevad Khan, who limped on the button. The small blind folded, then David Tran raised to 6,000 from the big blind. Khan pushed all in, and Tran thought about what to do. He had about 80,000 behind, and Khan had him covered. Finally, he made the call.

Tran showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, and Khan {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}. The flop came {2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and the turn {2-Diamonds}. Tran was in dire straits. But the river brought the {A-Clubs}, and he doubled up to 168,000. Khan is down to 30,000.
