Anna Wroblewski, Pot Thief

Anna Wroblewski swiped an early pot from a big blind who called her preflop raise to 275. The {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop brought checks, and Wroblewski fired 450 after being checked to on the {5-Spades} turn.

Wroblewski flashed pocket threes while raking the pot, prompting her opponent to say, "You made me lay down the winning hand."

Anna replied, "I didn't -- you laid (them) down yourself."

"But you raised preflop," came the response. "Just limp."

"I don't ever raise three times the blinds," said Anna, redirecting the conversation.

She's up to 4,500 as the first break nears.

More Donkey Bomber Risin'

2007 WSOP Player of the Year Tom "Donkey Bomber" Schneider continued his climb through the first two levels. Schneider picked up another knockout and climbed to 13,500 in a hand in which three players saw a {2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. A middle-position player bet 425 and Schneider, from late position, and an early-position player both called.

The {Q-Diamonds} turn went check-check to Schneider, who fired out 1,000. The early-position player folded, but the initial raiser check-raised all-in for 1,950, which Schneider called. The MP player showed {8-Spades}{6-Spades}, while Schneider's {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} was just one kicker-pip better. The nine played, too, when the river brought the {J-Hearts}.

Floating the Master

Men Nguyen is down to 2,500 after perhaps being floated out of a pot. Preflop, with Nguyen in the big blind, the hijack made it 300 and Nguyen called.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Nguyen bet out 250 and the hijack player called.

Nguyen was called again -- this time for 600 -- after a {6-Clubs} turn.

The {5-Hearts} river put two pair on the board. Nguyen checked, the hijack bet 1,500, and Nguyen folded. The hijack showed {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for the busted straight draw and the probable river bluff, though whether his opponent's ace was good, only Nguyen knows.

Early Departures, Part 2

In addition to Alex Kravchenko, emerging Euro star Albert Iversen exited early as well. Iverson was all in preflop for his last 1375 with {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades} against a middle-position player's pocket jacks, and the the board of {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} left the jacks ahead.

Zeidman Eliminated

Cory Zeidman exited the event late in Level 2 after flopping top set but being rivered by a flush. All in for his last 800 with pocket nines against {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}, Zeidman and his opponent both caught the {2-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} flop.

"Just pair the board! Just pair the board!" shouted Zeidman. The {3-Diamonds} turn was no pairing card but still safe for Zeidman, but the {5-Spades} river was not, completing the opponent's flush.
