Matt Matros Doubles Up

With Jim Miller raising a lot of pots, Matt Matros took a stand when Miller came after his big blind. Miller had raised to 5,000 on the button and Matros moved all in for his last 32,600. But Miller made the call and held the better hand, {A-Spades} {10-Clubs}, to Matros' {K-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}.

The {9-Spades} {6-Spades} {2-Hearts} helped neither player, but Matros caught the {4-Spades} on the turn to take the lead, and he took the pot after the {9-Clubs} fell on the river. Matros is now up to 67,000.

Walter Schrader Eliminated

The tournament life of Walter Schrader has just come to an end. He made a stand with {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} and ran into the {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} of Jace Reiken. An {A-?} on the flop was enough to give Reiken the win and send Schrader to the rail.

Greg Hartwick Moves Up The Leaderboard

After a {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {9-Spades} flop Satoru Ishii checked and Greg Hartwick bet enough to set him all in. Ishii called, only to find that his pair and open-ended straight draw had been beaten to the punch by Hartwick's {K-Spades} {J-Hearts} and flopped straight. The board bricked the rest of the way and that pot pushed Hartwick's stack up to 181,000.

He Got His Wish

Dan Heimiller and another player got all the chips in the middle before the flop, with Heimiller holding {J-Spades} {10-Spades} to his opponent's pocket sixes. "I wanted to gamble," Heimiller said, and that gamble paid off when the flop came {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}. With that pot Heimiller now has 62,000.

Jim Miller Eliminated

He came into play today as one of the chip leaders but Jim Miller has been eliminated. He lost a big pot with Matt Matros earlier today and lost the rest of his chips in another big hand, this time against Nath Pizzolatto.

Nath raised to 4,800 before the flop and Miller called from the big blind. The flop came {2-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} and Miller check-called Pizzolatto's 7,200 bet. When the {3-Spades} came on the turn Miller again checked, and this time Nath bet 13,000. Miller then raised for the last of his 58,500, and Pizzolatto took a long time deciding what to do.

He finally chose to call and it turned out to be the right choice, as his pocket nines had Miller's pocket sevens crushed, and when a six fell on the river Miller was out and Pizzolatto was up to 150,000.

A Lady for the Lady

Vanessa Rousso picked up a few chips when she moved all in for 16,000 holding {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs} and was called by the very short Scott Queckboerner holding {K-Clubs} {J-Spades}. Rousso hit top pair on the {9-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} flop and when Scott didn't get help on the turn nor river he was out and Vanessa chipped up to 27,000.
