Let the Bustouts Begin

With blinds and antes high and plenty of short stacks in the field, the players going out left and right. The yell of "seat open" and "winner on table ___" is becoming as common as the hum of shuffled chips.

Kathy Phillips Eliminated

A very short-stacked Kathy Phillips moved all in with {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs} and was called by an opponent holding {6-Hearts} {2-Spades}. Phillips flopped an {A-?} but lost when the the board came {A-Spades} {6-Spades} {4-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades}, giving her opponent a flush.

Thomas Osterfeld Eliminated

All the money went in before the flop with the short-stacked Osterfeld's {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} leading Jonathan Spong's {9-Spades} {7-Spades}. The {2-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {8-Spades} flop looked to be a good one for Osterfeld, but the {6-Diamonds} on the turn gave Spong an open-ended straight draw. And when Spong caught the {10-Spades} on the river he made his straight and brought a quick end to Osterfeld's day.

Two With One Blow

Frederico Dabus eliminated Fred Northcutt and Aaron Lasater on the same hand when all the money went in before the flop and he flopped a set of tens to crush Northcutt's pocket threes and Lasater's ace-king. He's up to 55,000 while Northcutt and Lasater are out.

Patrick Mongrain Finds the Rockets at the Right Time

Action folded to Brian Jin and he raised all in for just under 20,000. Lars Mathieson moved all in from the button for approximately 30,000 and Patrick Mongrain called from the button. The players showed:

Jin: {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}
Mathieson: {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts}
Mongrain: {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} and Mongrain's aces held. Jin and Mathieson were eliminated and Mongrain climbs to about 65,000 on the hand.
