Aces Full, Matt
Aces Full, Matt
Avery Cardoza raised to 5,500 from late position and was called by Matt Matros.

The flop came A-9-x and both players checked.

The turn was another rag and both players checked.

After the river brought another 9, Cardoza bet 13,000, Matros raised to 35,000, and Cardoza went all in.

Matros quickly called, showing 10-9, but Cardoza turned over pocket aces for the full house and Matros was out.

Cardoza is up to 255,000.

Marquez Doubles Up

Players in today's event really love those suited connectors. Mike Marquez got the reaminder of his 23,000-chip stack in preflop and was called by big-stacked Kevin MacPhee. MacPhee had {A-Clubs} {J-Spades}; Marquez showed {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}. Marquez flopped an open-ended straight draw against MacPhee's middle pair on a board of {2-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}. The turn {Q-Diamonds} gave him a flush draw to go along with it. The flush draw filled when the river came {6-Diamonds}, doubling Marquez up to about 48,000.

A Shortening Field

The field in this six-handed event continues to narrow at a rapid rate. Players seem nonplussed about getting their cards in the middle in a sixty-forty situation and seeing how the board runs out. There has not been much table chatter today; most of the players seem focused on trying to make a deep run and not letting anything else interfere with that.

Fineman Eliminated

Ben Fineman, who finished second at the Caesar's Palace WSOP circuit event, was just knocked out of the tournament.

Fineman was all in preflop for his last 30,000 chips, called by Tom Braband who showed {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

Fineman had {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, but the flop brought the {q-Diamonds} and Fineman was eliminated.

After Antuan Bunkley moved all in for about 25,000, Devin Porter called with {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

Bunkley had {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} and looked good to double up after the flop came {2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and the turn brought the {4-Clubs}.

But the river was the {5-Clubs}, sending Bunkley to the rail. Porter moves over 135,000.

Iacobellis Hits the Rail

Jason Dewitt
Jason Dewitt
Christian Iacobellis kept pushing all in preflop, and finally Jason DeWitt caught a hand with which to break him. Iacobellis push all in preflop from the cutoff with {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}; DeWitt woke up with {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} in the big blind and made a snap call. A board of {5-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} was no help for Iacobellis. He is out.

DeWitt now has about 225,000 chips.
