From the Robl, He Rises

Hey, I just got aces full paid off.
Hey, I just got aces full paid off.
Preflop, Andrew Robl bet 1,100 and was called by two opponents.

On a flop of {4-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {4-Spades}, the action was checked to Robl, who bet out 2,100. He was called by only one opponent. The turn of the {A-Hearts} fell, and action was again checked to Robl and again he bet out, this time for 4,500. His opponent then check-raised 10,500. Robl made the call.

On the river card of the {K-Diamonds}, Robel's opponent bet 11,000 and Robl raised all in for 15,050. His opponent made the call.

Robl showed {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} and his opponent mucked.

After the hand, Robl is up to 66,000 in chips.

"The Greek" Steaming

An Unhappy Greek
An Unhappy Greek
Archie "The Greek" Karas has just taken a hit and he's not too happy about it. He recalled the details to us and said that he'd flopped a set of aces on an {A-?}{2-?}{3-?} flop and after some heavy action, his opponent caught a {4-?} on the turn to make the wheel with his {2-?}{5-?}!

He's steaming at the moment but has 17,000 chips to still be in fine shape.

Going for the Check Raise
Going for the Check Raise
On a flop of {6-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, Mike Matusow checks from the big blind position and his opponent bets 1,000. Another opponent folds and Mike calls.

The turn is {Q-Clubs} and Mike checks. His opponent checks.

The river is {10-Diamonds} and Mike checks again. His opponent checks. Mike shows {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the flush.

Put Your Hands Together

David Einhorn
David Einhorn
David Einhorn is having a successful Day 1. He appears to have the respect of his current tablemates. In a recent hand, Einhorn raised from middle position to 2,000, and the table quickly folded to the big blind who decided to see the flop, too.

The flop came {J-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and the BB checked. Before Einhorn could even grab some chips with which to bet, his opponent mucked. Einhorn currently has 63,500.

You may remember Einhorn for his deep run in the 2006 Main Event, where he finished 18th and donated all of his winnings to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Today he's sporting the same sky blue sweater with handprints of his wife and children he wore during that WSOP run. At the time he explained how you need good hands to win at poker, so he always brings his best hands with him.

Building a Wolpert

All in on a flop of {7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{K-Spades}, Leo Wolpert shows {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} to the {K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} of Arnaud Mattern. The turn and river are {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Wolpert doubles through to 25,500. Mattern still has a massive 135,000.

Danged Out to Dry

Danny Dang and his opponent got all their chips in the middle preflop. Dang was holding {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} to his opponent's {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}.

The dealer went all the way to the river on this one {Q-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {6-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}. The king on the river sealed Dang's fate and it's not a good one.

Jared Brintz Continues to Accumulate

Jared Brintz is now up to 78,000 after taking his pocket tens up against an opponent's pocket fives. Brintz made a preflop raise and called his opponent's three-bet, then check-raised all in on a raggy flop and got a call. The tens held and Brintz raked in the pot.

Jacks Judged Not Enough to Joust with J-Dag

John D'Agostino
John D'Agostino
Two players limped, then the player in the small blind raised to 1,100. John D'Agostino called from the big blind, as did the two limpers.

The flop came {J-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The small blind checked, D'Agostino bet 3,000, and it folded back to the SB who called.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}. The SB checked again, and this time D'Agostino bet 5,000. His opponent considered for a moment, then folded, showing a jack as he did.

D'Agostino now has 39,000.
