Tiffany Michelle Not Just a Pretty Face

PokerNews' very own Tiffany Michelle was just involved in a noteworthy pot as we approach the first break. She limped in for 100 from the button, and the small blind raised it up to 500. She called, and the two of them went heads up to the flop.

It rolled out {7-Spades}

. The small blind bet out 1,000, and Tiffany made the call.

The turn brought the {A-Hearts}

. Tiffany fired out 2,500 chips, only to see her opponent raise to 9,000. She called the extra to see one more card.

Fifth street was the {10-Spades}

. Grabbing a stack of chips, Tiffany bet out 10,000, enough to scare away her competition. As she was being pushed the pot, Tiffany flashed the {3-Hearts}

and began stacking those checks. She has worked her way up to 38,000 in the first level, and heads out of the room to take her break just a couple minutes early.

The Greek Accumulating

Archie "The Greek" Karas is another notable player in today's field and he recently took down a couple of nice pots.

In the first hand he fired bets on the flop and turn, before checking the river on a board of {10-Spades}

. Karas showed down {K-Diamonds}

to scoop the pot.

A few minutes later, he raised preflop, before betting the flop and turn on a board of {5-Hearts}

. His opponent couldn't stand the heat and folded his hand.

It's great to see Archie playing today and it will be fascinating to watch how deep he can go. He's off to a good start, as he heads to the break with about 26,000 chips.

The Streak Continues

This hand took place just before players went on break. A player raised in middle position, and Kevin O'Donnell reraised to 1,100 from the button. The MP player called.

Both checked the {7-Diamonds}

flop. The turn was the {Q-Hearts}

. The middle-position player checked, O'Donnell bet 1,625, and his opponent called.

The river was the {4-Spades}

. Again, the MP player checked, and this time O'Donnell bet 2,100.

When he was called, O'Donnell announced, "I've never ever won at the World Series of Poker with this hand," turning over {K-Hearts}

. Not this time, either, as his opponent showed {A-Diamonds}

. O'Donnell has slipped to 14,000.

Just before the break Bryan Devonshire and an opponent got all the chips in the middle at the turn stage with the board reading {K-Hearts}

.

Devonshire turned over {K-Clubs}

for a set and his opponent showed {A-Clubs}

. The river came {J-Spades}

to fill Devonshire up and knock his opponent out.

Devonshire up to 50,000 now.
