Some Needles In The Haystack

Today's field seems to be amateur-heavy, and we've already heard the cry of "All In, Call!" However, we spotted a few noteworthy names in the blue section, including Archie "The Greek" Karas, Gabe Costner, Rhett Butler, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Francois Safieddine, Steve Paul-Ambrose, Amnon Filippi, Steve Wong, and Tony G.

Premature Climax

After months and months of anticipation, there are always some who come to the Main Event who just can't wait to push their chips in the middle.

A player with an eight-high flush draw got it all in versus a flopped set of fives. His draw didn't come, and we have another early elimination.

Who Else Is Here?

Liz Lieu, Justin Bonomo, Daniel Alaei, David Chicotsky, Scott Seiver, Matt Graham, Jerrod Ankenman, Larry Flynt, William Rockwell, Evelyn Ng, Sorel Mizzi, Chris Grigorian, Alan Sass, Jesper Hoog, Jordan Rich, Terrence Chan and Matt Parvis are all playing today.

Townsend Outflops Opponent

We caught up with the hand on the turn, with the board reading {5-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} and Brian Townsend made it 5,800 to go after his opponent checked. His opponent called and the river brought the {4-Clubs}. Townsend's opponent went all in for his remaining 10,000 and Townsend insta-called, showing {A-Clubs} {8-Clubs} for the flopped nut flush, while his opponent turned over {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} for top pair.

After the hand, Townsend is up to 40,000.

You Awada Battle with Me?

Awada from an earlier event
Awada from an earlier event
Joe Awada just got into a battle with the player who sucked out on him before. This time after a series of bets and raises on the flop Awada moved all-in for 7,650 on the turn with the board reading {2-Spades} {J-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {4-Spades}.

As the other guy tanked Awada said, "I'm not going to let you get there on the river again."

The other guy then folded {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} face up. Awada said he had kings, but all that matters is that Awada has the pot and is up to 26,600.
