Mahoney Doubles Through Franklin

Jeff Mahoney has doubled through Tom Franklin after all the chips were in the middle on a flop of {A-?}{A-?}{6-?}. Franklin had flopped trips with {A-?}{8-?} but found himself outkicked by Mahoney's {A-?}{Q-?}.

A {2-?} on the turn and a {3-?} on the river gave Mahoney the double up to 47,000 chips with Franklin now in trouble with only 17,000.

Eve's on the Up

Brandon Adams has just eliminated another player after a preflop all-in encounter. Adams was holding {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} to his opponent's {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts}.

The board came {J-Spades} {7-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}. It was almost all over on the flop and was all over by the turn. Adams breaks through the two-hundred barrier with 208,000.

The Gould has Run Out

Peter Gould
Peter Gould
After playing a nut flush very well earlier, but getting outdrawn by two-pair that filled up, Peter Gould had played very well to get himself back up to nearly one-hundred thousand. I say "had" because he has just become unlucky again to be eliminated. No outdraws this time, just a simple case of running pocket kings into an opponent's pocket aces.

Hammer Time

A middle-position player raised, then Devin Hammer reraised from the button. His opponent called.

The pair checked down the {4-Spades}{A-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{A-Spades} board. When Hammer checked on the end, his opponent said "You got me," turning over {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Indeed, he did -- Hammer tabled {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

Hammer is up to 49,000.

Schaedlich Takes a Small Hit

On a flop of {8-Clubs} {4-Spades} {2-Diamonds}, the action was checked to Brian Schaedlich who bet 7,500. The small blind called and the cutoff folded. The turn was the {8-Spades} and both players checked. The river was the {Q-Clubs}. The small blind checked, Schaedlich bet 7,000 and the small blind called.

The small blind showed {8-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} for trips and Schaedlich mucked. He's still the chip leader, but down to 480,000.

Ronald No Moore

Ronald Moore moved his last 12,000 chips in from under the gun and it looked like he was going to be able to steal the blinds and antes, until the player in the big blind made the call.

Moore held pocket tens, but was in trouble against the big blind's pocket jacks.

The board of {K-?}{Q-?}{8-?}{Q-?}{7-?} didn't help Moore and he was sent to the exit late on Day 2a.
