Jonathan McGowan Eliminated in 5th Place ($116,833)

Oh well, it's all a bit of fun
Oh well, it's all a bit of fun
Wow, where did all this crazy action come from?

Adam Adler raised under the gun and Jonathan McGowan flatted on the button. Over to Anthony Harb on the small blind, who reraised to around 600,000. Adler passed, but McGowan announced all in -- and an insta-call later, they were on their backs for McGowan's tournament life. Most unexpected.

McGowan: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}
Harb: {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

Both players stood up and sort of swayed nervously, grinning.

Board: {7-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {5-Clubs}

Thus we most unexpectedly lose Jonathan Cosmo McGowan in 5th place. We'll be done by dinner time at this rate.

Geary Harb-ering a Grudge

Jim Geary stuck his last 570,000 in under the gun, and was immediately called by Anthony Harb on the button. Not looking good for the crossword king...

Geary: {K-Clubs} {9-Hearts}
Harb: {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}

But...

Board: {3-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {A-Hearts}

The fisherman hat goes back on as Geary doubles to over a million to stay in the game.

A Good Time Being Had by All

Adam Adler raised to 155,000 under the gun, and one of his railers raised his beer in the air and called out, "I love it, I love it, I love it, everything about it." Everyone folded, and his merry railer cried, "That's my man, my man, Adam Adler," in case it wasn't obvious.

The next hand Adler got a walk, to cheers from his corner of the rail.

Stepping Up a Geary

Adam Adler raised under the gun only for Jim Geary to reraise on the button. Both blinds ducked out of the way, and Adler called.

They saw a {5-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} flop and Adler checked it. Geary promptly pushed his last 700,000 into the middle. Adler removed his sunglasses and pondered for a while, but eventually folded.

Adler's Railers High on Jerky

Adler - very popular with jerky enthusiasts

Anthony Harb raised to 150,000 under the gun and got looked up by both Adam Adler in the small blind and Jim Geary in the big.

The blinds checked the {Q-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {9-Hearts} flop and Harb bet 250,000 -- but Adler made it 600,000 to go and both players folded.

"Woo!" shouted the railers. "More Jack Link's to celebrate! Hey, are those nuggets? Get the teriyaki..."

Geary on the Tear-y

Peter Rho and Jim Geary saw a {10-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} flop, which Rho checked. Geary bet 200,000, and then Rho raised enough to put Geary all in. A quick call, and a showdown.

Rho: {J-Hearts} {10-Clubs}
Geary: {Q-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}

Turn: {9-Spades}
River: {2-Clubs}

A full double up to just under 2,000,000 for Geary, and we continue four-handed.
