Much Ado (Part Deux)

On the fourth hand of the ten-handed final table, we had more excitement without much consequence.

Garrett Beckman raised to 48,000 from late position, and Shawn Glines reraised to 145,000 from the cutoff. Gregg Merkow then tanked before shoving all in for 487,000 from the big blind.

Beckman folded, then Glines called, turning over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. Merkow showed {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}.

The board came {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}, and we had another big chopped pot.

Break Time

That big chopped pot between Glines and Merkow was the last hand of the level. Players are now taking a 20-minute break.

Altinbas Takes One

Bahador Ahmadi just opened with a raise to 62,000 from the hijack seat, then Oktay Altinbas reraised all in for 488,000 from the big blind. Ahmadi said no thank you.

Altinbas now has about 575,000.

Those Are Mes Amis

Matthew Lynn pushed all in for 377,000 from middle position and it folded around to Antoine Berube in the big blind.

Berube tanked for a while, and while he thought about it his vocal, French-speaking cheering section offered encouragement from the rail. Finally he let it go. Berube and Keven Stammen (sitting to Berube's left) shared a chuckle regarding Berube's supporters.

Two hands later, Lynn shoved all in before the flop and again claimed the blinds and antes.
