Before The Break...

Just prior to the break, Kevin Hong collected a nice pot when his {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} held on a board of {J-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{K-Hearts}. Hong called down bets on the flop and turn, before checking the river against Shawn Buchanan who could only muster ace-high with his {A-?}{Q-?}.

Meanwhile David Olson all but doubled up with his {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} taking a nice pot when he fired barrels on all streets on a board of {8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} against Chris Tryba. Olson is back up to 78,000 chips.

Litchie Running Into Some Bad Luck

On a queen-high flop, Jim Buckley turned an ace against Matt Lichtie's {K-?} {Q-?} to take the lead in the hand and upset Lichtie. "Of course, an ace on the turn," he said.

On the next hand, Lichtie raised and was called by Buckley and Chris Tryba. The flop came {10-Spades} {7-Spades} {2-Diamonds} and Tryba checked as he was first. Lichtie bet and Buckley folded before Rryba made the call.

The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {9-Spades} and Tryba fired a bet. Lichtie hesitated and then made the call.

"You're not gonna like it," said Tryba as he tabled {8-Clubs} {6-Hearts}. Lichtie looked to the sky and shook his head before mucking his hand.

Keller Cut by Negreanu

After a raise and reraise preflop, the action was capped on the flop of {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} between Shawn Keller and Daniel Negreanu.

The turn brought the {8-Spades} and Keller committed himself all in holding {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}, but he was called by Negreanu with {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Keller is eliminated as Negreanu adds to his blossoming stack.

We're now down to 18 players as they redraw for the final three tables of this event.

The Russians Are Coming

A couple of interested onlookers are high stakes player Sergey Rybachenko and 2008 WSOP Main Event runner up Ivan Demidov. It appears the Russian contingent are out to rail home their buddy and fellow Russian Nikolay Losev.

Losev will need all of their support at the moment as he's currently one of our short stacks.

Como-A-Go-Go

Robert Como has just taken down a very nice multi-way pot to rocket up the chip count leaderboard.

After four players had all capped the action preflop, Como fired bets on all streets on a board of {8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} with just Nikolay Losev surviving to the showdown. Como revealed {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} which was good to take it down. He moves up to 175,500 chips.

Mehmood Eliminated

Omar Mehmood was all in preflop against Nikolay Losev and Shaun Buchanan. The flop came down {6-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {3-Spades} and Losev checked to Buchanan. Buchanan bet and Losev called.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and Losev checked again. Again Buchanan bet. The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Losev check-called another bet from Buchanan.

Buchanan turned up pocket queens, {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}. Mehmood turned up {A-Clubs} {4-Hearts} saying, "Damn, I liked that flop, too. It gave me a chance to win. But all right, where's my money."

Shakaryan Flushed By Shulman

Ernest Shakaryan has been eliminated in 21st place. After reraising preflop from the big blind, Barry Shulman had opened from the button; the two took a flop of {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

The short-stacked Shakaryan moved all in for his last chips and Shulman made the call. Shakaryan held {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for top pair and the lead, but when the {4-Clubs} landed on the turn, Shulman had completed his flush holding {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

The river bricked and Shakaryan was sent to the cashier.

Knost Good Timing

Lennart Knost and Brock Parker were involved in a raising war that resulted in Knost having his last chips in the middle on the turn. The board read {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} with Knost holding {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for just a gutshot straight draw as Parker tabled the rockets - {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}!

The river was the {7-Clubs} and Knost is sent to the rail in 22nd place.
