Zolotow Triples with Ace High

A player in middle position raised, Joe Cassidy made it three bets, and then Steve Zolotow made it four bets. The first player called as did Cassidy.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {2-Spades} and everyone checked. The turn was the {2-Clubs}, pairing the board with deuces. Action checked to Zolotow and he fired a bet of 225. It was all he had left. Both players call.

The river was the {4-Spades} and the remaining two active players checked.

"I can't win." said the first player. Zolotow then turned up {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} for ace high. The first player had mucked already and Cassidy doubled checked, but mucked as well.

"No, no, no, you can't do this to me. You're really going to make me go on dinner break and come back with no chips?" said Zolotow. "How does ace high win?"
