Abominable Chip Leader

Brett Abarbanel has just skyrocketed to the top of the leaderboard after her pocket jacks outdrew an opponents pocket aces.

Abarbanel opened the pot with a raise to 975 from under-the-gun. Her opponent then made it an additional 1,000 to go and action folded back around to Abarbanel who called.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{J-Diamonds} -- the perfect complement to Abarbanel's holecards -- and she fired a bet of 4,000. Her opponent then moved all in and Abarbanel made a quick call with the mortal nuts.

The turn and river fell a very safe {8-Clubs}, {2-Hearts} for Abarbanel who now sits with just over 50,000 in chips.

JJ Liu Into Chip Lead

With a 1,200-chip raise being called by four players, we saw JJ Liu lead out for 2,400 on a flop of {A-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Liu had one caller before being faced with a 2,000-chip bet when the turn landed the {10-Hearts}. Liu made the call, and when the {9-Hearts} was checked to her on the turn, she fired for 5,000 and her opponent made the call.

Liu tabled {6-Spades}{7-Spades} for a runner-runner straight as her opponent flashed her {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} before mucking her hand. Liu climbs to over 40,000 in chips.

Alya Nazarali Doubles

Alya Nazarali opened the pot to 2,100 and managed to find two callers.

The flop fell down {7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Nazarali and one opponent got all their chips into the middle with Nazarali at risk.

Nazarali: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {6-Spades}{7-Spades}

With Nazarali having a virtual lock on the pot, she would have a small sweat on the turn when the {6-Diamonds} fell, but with the {J-Hearts} landing on the river she doubled through to over 20,000 in chips.

Maridu Shocked but Retains Chips

The under the gun player opened with a raise to 1,000 before Maridu Mayrinck made it 2,300 to go.

Mayrinck's opponent made the call and checked the flop of {7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. Mayrinck fired out 1,675, only to be check-raised to 4,000. Mayrinck called and pushed all in on the turn of the {6-Spades} after her opponent lead out for 4,000.

Her opponent sat in the tank and asked Mayrinck if she would show. After being turned down, she open-mucked her {6-?}{6-?}, and with Mayrinck in shock she kindly flashed her {A-?}{A-?}.

As Mayrinck raked in the pot to move to 31,000, she commented on how bad she felt and offered her opponent a 2% stake in her if she cashes.

Tibbles to Value Town

We caught the action on the flop of {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades} with Tamara Tibbles leading out for 4,000 and her opponent check-calling.

The turn landed the {7-Diamonds}, and this time a bet of 8,000 was in order, which was again check-called by her opponent.

When the river landed the {J-Hearts}, Tibbles took her opponent to value town with a bet of 2,000.

Her opponent jumped in the car for the ride and made the call, only to see Tibbles table {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a flush and the pot as she soared to the chip lead with 41,000 and change.

Jett Leaking Chips

It seems as though Karina Jett can't catch a break at the moment.

Most recently she continued her generous chip-giving when her {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} was rivered by her opponent's {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} when the board filled out {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

Jett has now doubled up two players in the past two orbits at her table, and consequently has slipped to 7,600 in chips.

Schoenberg Sends Opponent to Rail

A player in middle position pushed all in for her last 3,775 and with it folding to Erica Schoenberg, she made the call from the cutoff.

Schoenberg: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}

Schoenberg managed to out-flop her opponent when the board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}. She moved up to 18,000 as she sent her opponent to the rail.
