Facing a raise to 450 from under the gun, JJ Liu made it 1,500 to go from middle position.

The original raiser made the call before leading for 1,900 on a flop of {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Liu then upped the ante and raised the action to 4,000 to prompt a fold from her opponent.

As Liu raked in the pot, she climbed to just over 23,000 in chips as we approach the end of the level.

From Satellite To Bracelet?

Tournament poker has evolved and changed many times over the years, and most recently the introduction of satellite's have seen the numbers swell.

Continuing on from this trend, the Bicycle Casino in California ran a satellite program where ten lucky ladies won their seat into today's Ladies World Championship.

Of those ten, seven still remain including Mychele Medina (14,100), Roni Taylor (4,575), Debbie Knight (2,800) and Jena Delk (1,325).

Will one of these ladies be able to walk away with the coveted gold bracelet, title of Champion and $195,390 in prize money?

Amanda Leatherman Eliminated

With the action folding round to Amanda Leatherman, she pushed all in for her last 1,250 and found a caller out of the blinds.

Leatherman: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Leatherman would be unable to outdraw her opponent when the board fell {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{J-Hearts} to see her eliminated from the tournament and on her way out the door.

Le'vin On a Jet Plane

Julie Le's aces were cracked by an opponent's {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, putting an early end to her day.

With the board showing {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Le led out with a 625 bet. Her opponent raised to 2,000, Le moved all in and her opponent called:

Le: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Opponent: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {2-Diamonds} then fell on the turn giving Le's opponent a flush, but Le still had outs to make a bigger one. Unfortunately for her, the river delivered the {8-Spades}, solidifying her fate.

Stern Slips

Facing three limpers ahead of her, Maria Stern bumped the action from the cutoff to 1,200 with only one making the call.

The flop fell down {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and the limp-caller lead out for 1,200 with Stern making the call.

When the turn landed the {9-Diamonds} a bet of 2,000 saw Stern's cards fly into the muck to see her slip to a little over 3,500 in chips.
