Play Resmues With a Few Extra

We're back.

Freddy Deeb, Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, and Erick Lindgren are all joining our field following the break. Also occupying an empty seat is a Post-it note with the name "Daniel Negreanu" written on it. Negreanu is four-handed for a bracelet right now in Event #14, taking place on the ESPN featured table. It appears he'll be joining us as soon as he gets finished up over there.

Distractions

Most of the players are back from break, but there are still a few dozen empty seats scattered around the room. If you look over in the corner, you'll understand why. Game 2 of the NBA Finals is running toward the end of the 4th quarter with the score tied at 86, and there is a whole gang of players crowded around the television screen, cheering loudly and yelling at the players.

The tournament can wait.

Last Man In?

Fresh off a dominating win for his sixth gold bracelet, Phil Ivey has taken his seat. It appears that the final number will be 179 runners, though we're still waiting on confirmation from the staff.

Up a Little

Nick Schulman up to 32,500 after winning another small pot of an opponent. We caught up with the hand at the turn stage where Schulman saw his bet called on a {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {2-Spades} board. He also had a bet called on the {K-Hearts} river but his {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} hand was good for the pot.

Multi-Tabling

We found Daniel Negreanu in his chair, while his much more important event is on break in the main room. Negreanu is now three-handed for another bracelet in Event #14, but he made the trek to the Brasilia Room to play a few hands over here.

We pick up his action in a heads-up pot on the river with the board reading {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {3-Spades} {2-Spades} {9-Diamonds}. His lone opponent checked, then called a bet when Negreanu fired. Kid Poker turned over {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {4-Hearts} having flopped threes full.

Across the felt, table mate Mike Matusow yelled, "Daniel don't waste time flopping sets and boats!" Negreanu is up to 35,000 now, enough chips to let himself get blinded down while he tends to more important business.

Bill Gazes as His Chips Go the Other Way

Gazes at the action
Gazes at the action
Bill Gazes raised, was three bet by the SB, he four bet him back and was called. There was betting and raising on every street except the river where a simple SB bet was called by Gazes. The board we were left with was {J-Spades} {2-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {6-Spades} {2-Clubs}.

The small blind showed {5-Spades} {10-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} and it was good enough to scoop the lot. Gazes down to 26,000.
