Brockslide

Brock Parker raises to 55,000 but Alexander Wilson makes it 145,000 from the button. Clayton Newman tanks and then folds in the small blind and it's passed back to Parker who calls.

The flop is {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} and both players check, they also check the {A-?} on the turn before Parker checks a third time on the {8-Hearts} river. Wilson bets 190,000 and Parker quickly folds.

Eights Are Enough

Joe Serock raised to 52,000 from under the gun, and it folded around to Brock Parker who called from the big blind. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{J-Hearts}, and Serock bet 66,000. Parker made the call.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, and Parker immediately checked. Serock checked as well. Another six came on the river, and both players checked. Parker showed {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, and Serock mucked.

Rios Takes a Small One

Just had another Serock-Rios mini-standoff.

Both checked a flop of {J-Spades}{A-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The turn brought the {Q-Clubs}. Serock checked, Rios bet 150,000, and Serock called. The river was the {4-Diamonds}. Serock checked, and Rios checked as well. Rios showed {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, having decided against betting on the end with his two pair, and Serock mucked.

Keep On Serock-ing In The Free World

Rios limps the cutoff and Serock checks the big blind.

The flop is {5-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {2-Spades} and Serock bet 35,000 and Rios quickly calls. The {3-Spades} sees both players check on the turn and the {K-Diamonds} river sees another bet from Serock, 100,000 this time Rios makes the call but mucks when Serock shows {K-?} {5-?} for the winning two pair.

I Just Play Poker

Joe Serock
Joe Serock
Our chip leader Joe Serock is a 21-year-old native of Tampa, Florida currently residing in San Francisco. He has a couple of previous cashes in EPT and WPT events, and this summer scored his first WSOP cash with an 11th place finish in the $10,000 World Championship Mixed (8-Game) event.

When asked to provide "interesting things about you" (i.e., hobbies, etc.) on the bio sheet players filled out prior to the start of the final table, Serock's response perhaps helps explain his early successes here at his first WSOP: "I just play poker."

You Call Me, I Call You

Joe Serock raised to 50,000 from the cutoff, and Jesse Rios called from the big blind. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, and both checked. The turn was the {2-Spades}, and Rios bet out 75,000. Serock made the call. The river brought the {4-Diamonds}, and Rios checked.

Serock took the initiative and bet 225,000. Rios didn't wait too long before making the call. Rios turned over {Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, and Serock {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} -- both had top pair, and with the pair and jack on board split the pot.

Serockin' It

It folded to Joe Serock who raised to 60,000 from the small blind, and Alex Wilson called from the big blind. The flop came {5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Serock led with a bet of 75,000, and Wilson made the call. The turn brought the {9-Hearts}. Serock studied the board for about 10 seconds, then checked. Wilson checked behind.

The river was the {10-Hearts}. This time Serock studied for about 30 seconds before pushing out two stacks of orange chips -- a bet of 200,000. Wilson let it go. Serock has about 3.45 million now, and Wilson -- his nearest competitor at the moment -- has about 1.275 million.
