Nik-ing The Chips

Nikolai Yakovenko has doubled through Alex Ivarsson. Ivarsson who raised preflop to 20,000 and Yakovenko moved all in. The chip leader called and got shown {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} to his own {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} but couldn't spike on the {7-Clubs} {9-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {4-Clubs} board.

It's Reigning Men

Men Nguyen
Men Nguyen
Men Nguyen just doubled up through Stanislav Alekhin. The pair got all of Nguyen's chips in the middle on a flop of {J-Spades}{K-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Nguyen tabled {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for top two, while Alekhin showed {K-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The turn was the {9-Hearts}, giving Alekhin a lesser two pair and made things momentarily more interesting. But the river was the {Q-Diamonds} and Nguyen now has 247,000. Alekhin slips to 265,000.

Three More Out, 22 Remain

Kenna James
Kenna James
After being crippled in that earlier hand versus Alexander Wilson, Eugene Katchalov was soon eliminated in 25th place ($11,839)

"Cowboy" Kenna James got his below-average stack in the middle before the flop with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}, and chip leader Alex Ivarsson was there to compete with {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.

The {9-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop was good to Ivarsson. The turn was fine, too -- {6-Spades}. And the {Q-Diamonds} sealed it. James rides into the sunset in 24th place ($14,394). Ivarsson extends his lead, and now has 1.28 million.

And shortly after that, Brett Switzer hit the rail in 23rd, also earning $14,394.

Blair Suffers Defeat

No, it's not a British general election.

Blair Hinkle had just virtually doubled through Brian Meinders when he got his stack in against Joe Serock with {5-?} {5-?} against {Q-?} {Q-?} and lost out.

Give that we're at 4,000/8,000 and Hinkle had 220,000 at the start of the hand, I think we can assume he bet/3bet all-in preflop against Serock's reraise.

Serock now has about 1,000,000. Hinkle earns $11,839 for his 26th place finish.

Levi Almost Breaks

Claudio Rinaldi is counting his lucky stars after making a reshove with {7-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} and getting called by Yariv Levi's {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}, blind on blind.

The board came {8-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {7-Spades}, the seven on the river putting Rinaldi up to 225,000.

Another Ruthless River

Alexander Wilson was just now all in for his tournament life for a total of 192,500 with {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} against Eugene Katchalov who held {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{A-Spades}. So far so good for Katchalov. The turn was fine too, the {3-Spades}. But the {10-Clubs} popped out on the river, giving Wilson the 430,000-chip pot and knocking Katchalov back to just 52,000.
