3-Across: Five Letter Word for "Eliminated"

Eli Elezra
Eli Elezra
Eli Elezra was all in for before the draw for 10,300 and called by one of the chip leaders, Vince Musso. Musso drew one and made (J)-9-3-6-2. Elezra drew one and opened 8-4-3-2. He had half of the deck to catch to stay alive in the tournament -- any five (4), any six (3), any seven (4), any nine (3), any ten (4) or any jack (3).

Elezra took his time squeezing the card and commented that it was "three across" -- meaning three pips down the side of the card. That meant the card was a six, seven or eight, giving Elezra a 70% chance of it being a good card. Wouldn't you know it was an eight, pairing Elezra and knocking him out.

A few hands later Musso also knocked out Farzad Bonyadi to climb to 225,000 in chips.
