Wolpert vs. Mathieu: All In is Too Much

We pick up a big pot brewing on the river. With 140,000 chips already piled in the middle of the table, the board shows {3-Spades} {3-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}, and action was on Leo Wolpert. He checked, and Clavet Mathieu put out a bet of 65,000. Without much delay, Wolpert moved all in for more than 400,000. After carefully considering, Mathieu opted to lay it down and pick another spot to go to war.

The turn brought the {5-Spades} . O'Dwyer slowed things down and checked, but Romanello was having none of that, and moved all in. O'Dwyer folded his hand and is left with 318,000.

Timoshenko Next to Go; Pellegrino Advances

Yevgeniy Timoshenko - Eliminated
Yevgeniy Timoshenko - Eliminated
Both Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Bryan Pellegrino put in 13,000 before the flop, and the first three board cards came {10-Spades} {5-Spades} {A-Diamonds}. Pellegrino checked, and Timoshenko put out his bet of 16,000. Pellegrino then check-raised to 44,000, and Timoshenko moved all in. Timoshenko made the call to put his own tournament life in jeopardy.

Showdown
Timoshenko: {2-Spades} {3-Spades}
Pellegrino: {A-Spades} {9-Hearts}

Pellegrino was ahead, but Timoshenko had a myriad of out cards. The {10-Diamonds} on the turn was safe for the leading player, as was the repeat {10-Clubs} that hit the river. Improving to tens full of aces, Bryan Pellegrino has moved on to Day 3, taking care of the deceptively dangerous Yevgeniy Timoshenko.

Chan vs. Smith: Chan Taking Control

Johnny Chan came in with a raise to 16,000, and Justin Smith made the call.

The flop came {J-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}, and Smith checked. Chan put out 21,000, and his opponent called.

Both players checked when the {9-Spades} hit fourth street. On fifth, the {3-Spades} looked like a rag. Smith grabbed the betting lead, firing out 56,000. Chan weighed his options before making the call. He turned over {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}, and Smith could only nod and send his cards into the muck.

Chan - 645,000
Smith - 315,000
