Dwan vs. Romanello: Tides Turning

Tom Dwan limped into the pot from the button, and Roberto Romanello raised it up to 7,100. Durrrr called, and the flop came {9-Spades} {2-Spades} {2-Clubs}. Both players check-checked.

Fourth street brought the {4-Spades}. Romanello bet 4,000, and Dwan called. The river was the {7-Hearts}, and the action repeated with Dwan calling another 4,000.

Romanello tabled {4-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}, and Dwan mucked his cards. Roberto Romanello has now taken a lead in that match, sitting with 135,000 to Dwan's 105,000

Buchanan vs. Lamb: Benjamin Lamb Advances

Before the flop, Benjamin Lamb raised to 8,500, and Shawn Buchanan made the call from the big blind.

The flop came out {9-?} {2-?} {3-Clubs}. Lamb continued out with a bet of 9,000, and Buchanan moved all in for 62,000 total. Lamb quickly called, turning over {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}. Buchanan sheepishly turned over {8-?} {9-?}, his top pair still trailing his opponent's overpair. The turn and river would blank off with a {K-?} and a {5-?}, and Shawn Buchanan has been eliminated.

Jason Senti Advances

Erik Seidel was all in before the flop for just about 40,000 holding {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}. Jason "PBJaxx" Senti looked him up with {A-Hearts} {9-Spades}.

The flop was a mixed bag for Seidel, coming {7-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {A-Spades}. He had flopped the flush draw, but Senti was still leading with two pair. The {9-Hearts} on the turn ended all of the drama, improving PBJaxx to the winning full house and sending Erik Seidel out the door.

Senti showed some class this afternoon when he waited about 10 minutes for Seidel to show up. The staff instructed the dealers to blind off the absent players, but Senti simply capped his cards and sat patiently. That good karma has come back around to Senti apparently, as he will advance to the Round of 32.

Rousso vs. Roberts: Top Pair No Good

In a limped pot, Vanessa Rousso and Evan Roberts saw the flop roll out {7-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}, and they both checked. The turn was the {4-Hearts}, and Rousso led out with 5,000 chips. Roberts made the call.

The river brought the {7-Clubs}. Rousso checked again, and Roberts took the opportunity to bet 6,600, which she called.

Roberts tabled {J-Spades} {7-Spades}, and Rousso could only scowl. "Top pair," she said as she sent her cards into the muck. She's down to 51,000, giving Roberts 189,000.
